In 1993 the Department of Mechanics at the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy of Sliven organized the first National Seminar on Synthesis and Analysis of Mechanisms. The seminar is organized at the initiative of Prof. Penka Genova in memory of the founder of the international organization IFToMM and the National Society of TMM to Scientific-technical Union Professor Michael Konstantinov Spirov. The first seminar will be held in the locality Karandila near Sliven. Retrieved decision seminar to be held every two years. Were successively held two national workshops with international participation - in 1995 and 1997.
After the unification of the Department of Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering and Transport and Energy in FIP - Sliven in the Department of Mechanics, Mechanical engineering and Heat, the subject of the seminar was extended to two new scientific fields. In 1999 in the village of Stara reka first workshop was held with additional Department of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics of Fluids, Heat and Mass Transfer.
The increased interest in this scientific forum organizing its annual need. Over the past six years to establish the tradition - the place of a seminar to be in Sports-tourism complex near the dam Jrebchevo. During the years 2001 to 2005, consistently held V, VI, VII, VIII and IX in order National Seminars on "Synthesis and Analysis of Mechanisms.
Because more and more active involvement in the scientific program on the additional sections, the name of the seminar in the years to change twice. Thus, in 2006 in Sports and Tourist complex near the dam Jrebchevo is held National Conference with international participation "Technical Systems and Technologies 2006". In the next 2007 will be held with the same name but with a changed place - Sliven.
During the years 2008 to 2011 the name of the forum it the National Scientific Conference with international participation "Mechanisms, Machine Mechanics, Manufacturing and Energy technologies.
In 2008 the conference is held in the village Zheravna.
In 2009 and 2010 – in Bakadzhika near the city of Yambol.
In 2011 the conference is held in Sports-tourism complex near the dam Jrebchevo.
In 2012 the forum is held under the name "Machine Sciences" in Complex "Gorski Kat" near city of Sliven.
By 2013 the conference includes the sections “Electrotechnics, Electronics and Automatics“, „Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry“, „Pedagogy and Management“. The forum is held under the name "National Conference with international participation SLIVEN '2013", taking place respectively in Complex "Gorski Kat" in 2013 and hotel complex "Sports Palace" in the city Sliven in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
In 2017 the conference is held in the hotel complex "National Palace" in the town of Sliven.
In 2018 the Conference is held at the St. Nicholas Hotel Complex in Sliven.
In 2019 the Conference started with the opening of the Forum "Days of Science of TU-Sofia 2019" and is held at the National Palace Hotel in Sliven.
In 2020 the conference will be held at the St. Nicholas Hotel Complex in Sliven.
Despite the different names over the years, the National Conference is established as the preferred meeting of scientists of different ages and with different scientific interests.
The international participation expands with guests from France, Russia, Italy, Turkey, Vietnam, Iraq, Greece and others.
